You can score figure skaters with this figure skating scoring app, Score Skates! This app was built by a figure skater who competes on the national stage. Download for free and enjoy the up-to-date, customizable, and user-friendly experience. Score Skates reflects the International Judging System (IJS) and has additional functions with how U.S. Figure Skating implements it in domestic competitions.
THREE MODES TO CHOOSE FROM
- Simple mode. This mode is for beginners who may not be used to the IJS system. Jumps, spins, and sequences can be entered into the app on one page. While this mode does not allow the entering of GOEs, this is the most simplest mode you can use to start with.
- Button mode. This mode has the full functionality of the IJS system. With this mode, you can enter every possible key and GOE that can be found in competitions. Three pages can be swiped through to find the jump section, the spin section, and the sequence section.
- Swipe mode. This mode also has the full functionality of the IJS system, but fits everything into one page. It also utilizes a joystick that you can drag, so if used enough, this mode can be used without looking at the screen. All the functions are also in one page, which allows for quicker entry of the IJS keys.
PCS
- Score Skates uses the new, three-part PCS system. The slider allows the user to enter each mark from 0 to 10 in increments of 0.25. The total PCS score is also calculated based on the user input's level, gender, and segment.
PROTOCOL
- The protocol mimics what the judge's score looks like in an actual competition. It contains information from element number, key, info, bonus, GOE, and score.
- Each element can be tapped to reveal details of the element, and the user can use the text field to edit each element.
- The user can press the "Edit" button or hold and drag to delete or reorder elements
- The protocol shows the TES total, PCS total, deductions, and segment total.
- Users can use the "Save" button to save the protocol to their device, which they can review in the "Saved Results" tab, even after closing the app.
- Users can click the share button to send the protocol to others or save it to their device as an image.
SAVED RESULTS
- Saved protocols from the "Scores" tab will show up here even after the app is closed.
- Users can swipe to the left to delete each protocol.
- Users can share the protocol as an image
- Users can use the filter button to filter protocols with certain names, dates, or segments.
- Users can import protocols that are shared as texts from the "Raw" button in the "Scores" tab.
AUTOMATIC INVALID CHECK, REP CHECK, AND BONUS CHECK
- The algorithm of Score Skates checks each element to see if the element is invalid (*), repeated (+REP), or gains a bonus (b1).
- This check is dependent on the skater's level, gender, and segment
- This setting can be turned on or off in the settings section.
