Guardian Keyper is a secure, decentralized mobile app that offers you peace of mind by safeguarding your digital secrets using advanced social recovery technology. The risk of data leakage from centralized storage is eliminated with Keyper, ensuring your passwords, seed phrases, and all private data remain exclusively yours.
Harness the power of Web3 Social Recovery technology by encrypting your digital secrets and fragmenting them to the shards stored by trusted Guardians: your smartphone, tablet, or mobile devices of friends and family. Rest assured, neither your Guardians nor Keyper can ever see, store or copy your secret: shards are useless without you. Your Guardians never know your complete secret or contact other Guardians, eliminating the risk of collusion.
Key Features:
Personally choose your trusted Guardians and be aware of who holds your secret fragments.
Mitigate single points of failure and safeguard your digital assets from loss, theft, or hacking.
Implement social recovery for any smart contract or account abstraction wallet with Keyper.
Secure your secrets with robust PGP-style asymmetric public-key-based cryptography.
Stay in Control with Open-Source:
Keyper places you in the driver's seat of your digital secrets storage. Access our open-source repository to know precisely who you're entrusting and how the process works.
Safeguard your secrets in 5 steps:
1. Install Keyper on at least 3 trusted mobile devices – your Guardians.
2. Add a new Vault on a device for secret entry and recovery.
3. Onboard Guardians by scanning their QR or text codes.
4. Commit your secret(s) to the Vault, where they will be encrypted into Shards and dispatched to Guardians.
5. Retrieve your secrets anytime, provided your Guardians are online.
Note: The Vault owner can also be a Guardian, but it's optional (check the “Keep one Shard on my device” checkbox on the Vault creation step). If you decide against retaining a Shard on your device during Vault creation, you'll need 4 devices: the Vault owner and 3 Guardians.
If you lose the Vault owner device or one of the Guardians, fear not: you can easily restore your Vault with the consent of the remaining Guardians – ensuring your assets are secure under any circumstances.
Word of caution
Deleting the app housing your Vault or Shards from your device will cause irreversible loss of them.
Restoring a Vault to the device that already holds a shard from the same vault is impossible (this is a limitation of the current release 2.1.1, we will fix it in future releases). Use a device free of any shards from the vault to be restored.
