Ski PT is a pre-hab app with exercise routines aimed to build users bodies in Strength, Balance, Conditioning, and Flexibility for better skiing and injury prevention.
Strength is required for having the control to cut and hold an edge on the snow and maintain control.
Balance is needed for staying relaxed while bending ankles, knees, and hips in sometimes counter-intuitive positions for proper form.
Conditioning helps prevent fatigue which leads to bad form, increasing the likelihood of injury.
Flexibility assists with balance while conditioning tendons and ligaments to bend rather than break in the event of a wipeout or fall.
Exercise routines were developed by a Colorado licensed physical therapist and ski instructor from Keystone resort, who was also a competitive college skier and has the unique knowledge and first hand experience of what's needed for proper ski technique and injury prevention. While Ski PT is NOT an injury recovery program (please see a physical therapist in person), it is designed from first hand experience both on the slopes and in a clinical setting to help prep the body for improved physical shape leading to better skiing and preventing injury in the first place.
