Flexible from A to B with the VVS-Rider: The on-demand service for the districts around Stuttgart complements traditional public transport. Without a fixed timetable, it takes passengers to their destination on demand.
Here's how it works:
- The VVS-Rider is requested via the free VVS-Rider app.
- The minibus collects all passengers who have a similar route. This avoids traffic, saves resources and is therefore good for the climate in the Stuttgart region. In order to be even more efficient on the road, the VVS Rider ride can be combined with buses and trains.
- VVS tickets are valid in all VVS-Riders. The price depends on the fare zones used.
- The VVS-Rider may be used with all valid VVS tickets – including city tickets
and Deutschlandticket.
In contrast to door-to-door pick-up from a taxi, the VVS-Rider collects passengers at a nearby location that is within easy walking distance. The drop-off point is not far from the destination. The service area is defined by a large number of entry and exit points.
The pick-up and drop-off point, as well as the pick-up and arrival times, are displayed in the app after the start and destination addresses are entered.
The advance booking function allows you to book the VVS Rider ride up to seven days in advance. After entering the start and destination points, the trip can be "planned". For this purpose, the VVS Rider app offers a 20-minute pick-up window for the pre-booked ride. The day before you will receive an automated trip reminder and on the pick-up day you will be informed of the exact pick-up time as well as the pick-up location 30 minutes before the start of the trip.
The VVS-Rider is also barrier-free. Most vehicles are equipped with a ramp that allows the passenger with a wheelchair to enter the vehicle. Special safety devices ensure safe transport. A barrier-free ride can be ordered directly in the VVS Rider app. To do this, you have to click on the menu item "Passenger settings" that a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is required.
