it weren’t for the year displayed on my phone, I’d genuinely believe we’re still living in 2003 — because that’s clearly where Willow HQ got stuck while the rest of the world moved on to high-quality streaming and modern interfaces. Meanwhile, we’re paying premium prices for potato-resolution streams, random buffering marathons, and enough latency to hear the final wicket fall from our neighbors before Willow shows us the bowler’s run-up. And the ads — oh, the ads. Nothing says “we value our customers” like being force-fed the same Valero and Toyota commercials every time I dare to blink. A 5-second break? Cool, get ready for 30 seconds of déjà-vu advertising hell. It’s like the app is punishing us for trying to enjoy cricket. The funniest (or saddest?) part: this is the official broadcaster for major cricket tournaments. The pinnacle of the sport — delivered like a college project gone wrong. ICC doesn’t care. BCCI doesn’t care. Willow certainly doesn’t care. Monopoly is a lovely business model when you’ve mastered “bare minimum,” I guess. To any Willow representative doom-scrolling through complaints: perhaps try focusing on streaming the actual match properly before dreaming up new ways to show us the same car ad for the 400th time? Anyway, keep ignoring this feedback. The world will eventually find better ways to keep up with cricket. Your monopoly won’t protect you forever. Until then, thanks for the nostalgia — I never asked to return to the early 2000s, but here we are.
