About Hazmat Load Segregation Guide
Easy-to-review version of the "Segregation for Hazardous Materials" tables found in CFR 49 §177.848
This app utilizes the "Segregation for Hazardous Materials" and "Class 1 Explosives Compatibility" Tables found in DOT/PHMSA Hazmat and IATA Dangerous Goods (DG) Handling Regulations.
Because of their hazards, some hazardous materials may not be loaded, transported, sorted or stored together during the course of transportation. In other cases, the materials may loaded/shipped together as long as they are separated so that if any of the packages leak during transport, the leaked material would not commingle with other hazardous materials.
Using the "Segregation Tables" in the D.O.T's Hazardous Materials or IATA's Dangerous Goods Handling Regulations, employees determine the requirements for loading/shipping different classes of hazardous materials on the same vehicle or aircraft.
The information presented in this app can help the hazmat employee training requirements by supplementing knowledge with a quick and easy to use interface.
