No new issues show up
I have an active iTunes subscription for this magazine but have not seen any new magazines for 5 months. Going to cancel…waste of money
Not Exiled
Too much work for what's really there
After reading Metropolis for a year on my iPad, I've decided it's not worth it. Apart from the huge number of ads, including the fact that the first 50 pages of any issue are almost nothing but ads, it's the functionality, or lack of it, that gets me. While other magazine apps let you return to the page you were on after leaving the app, with Metropolis you always have to start with the cover of the latest issue, then swipe to the list of issues, then tap on the one you were reading, and then use the bookmark you left before you stopped reading, if you remembered to leave a bookmark. This happens even if you didn't shut down the app. Another annoyance is the "show text" button that appears every time you turn the page, and is almost always blocking part of the text.
