ID verification is garbage

Facial scan doesn’t work to verify ID. Their answer is go to a regional lottery office instead of addressing the issue.

Why bother?

SIGNIFICANT ATTENTION: As of January 7th 2025, new users are unfortunately now REQUIRED to register to scan tickets. To make matters worse, the verification process now REQUIRES you to scan a valid ID and your face. What they do is take a picture of the front & back of your ID, along with scanning your face by moving your head left and right. All of this is required to scan tickets and redeem points. Existing users have to do all of this just to be able to redeem their currently existing points. If you DO NOT AGREE with these “new security enhancements”, then don’t bother with the app and delete your account if you have one. This app was updated back in April 2024, and many people are still complaining. Many of these complaints are legit. When you look at the remaining prize lists of some scratch-off games, the prize sorting is completely messed up. Some won’t display in the proper order that existed in previous app versions. With the new update, all previous records of drawing entries, gift card orders, and merchandise orders have disappeared. Unfortunately, I don’t think those are coming back. You can still submit points to enter prize drawings. I never ordered any of their physical merch items, so I can’t speak for that yet. They usually refill their digital gift card catalog on Mondays or Tuesdays. You should get those within a few hours of ordering. You may need to check your spam mail. As for physical gift cards, you can still cash out your points for those as well as you were able to before. The cards themselves will take 2 weeks to show up, but could be closer to a week if you’re lucky. THAT IS IF THEY EVER REFILL THE CATALOG. NOW THEY’RE BEING STUPID AND NO LONGER OFFER PHYSICAL GIFT CARDS IN THE CATALOG AS OF MIDDLE OF SEPTEMBER 2025?! I don’t know what these guys are smoking, but that’s just wrong. I think it may be the same BS that has caused Jackpocket to no longer work in Ohio. At this point, we should all suggest that West Virginia Lottery should start offering points for gift cards as part of their second chance rewards program to avoid the issues of the Ohio Lottery app. Games are back, but are restocked infrequently. Overall, this app is trash now. At least it still kind of works. Sometimes. I remember it being down for no reason for a few days at the start of December 2025 and on Christmas Day.
