Notification emails are sent based upon a change in the state on the sensor from open to closed (or vice versa closed to open), for instance, alerting you when a storage tank is high-level, a fuel tank is running low, or a fault condition occurs.

Scheduled summary reports can detail the number of alerts, the percentage of time the contact has been open versus closed, and also provides battery level indication of the device.
