About UMBCPD Wellness
The mission of the UMBC Police Department is to provide a safe and secure environment that enhances the quality of life for the university community. We are committed to the prevention of crime; protection of life and property; preservation of peace, order and safety; enforcement of laws; and university policies and the safeguarding of individual rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
With community service as our foundation, we investigate crimes as well as incidents that may impact campus safety to seek solutions to foster a sense of security. We accomplish this by working in collaboration with the community, treating all individuals within our jurisdiction with respect, fairness and compassion and earning public trust and confidence by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics.
To fulfill our mission, the department is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and personnel development of our members through effective training and leadership.
