Okey is a traditional tile game that many find to be extremely interesting. With a similar game-play concept to Rummy, it’s really easy to pick up the game! In Okey, each player tries to create combinations of tiles to win the most points. Give it a try, play this classic game Okey with other players, and see if you can win the most points!
The objective of the game Okey is to score points against the opposing players by collecting certain groups of tiles.
Okey Game is played by two to four players with a set of 106 tiles.
The 106 tiles are distributed such that, the first player to start the round will receive 15 tiles and the other players receive 14 tiles each. The remaining tiles are made a stack and placed face down in the center. A tile is drawn randomly from the center stack and kept face up beside the same stack, this makes the "indicator" tile from which "joker" and "false joker" will be determined.
Before the round starts, a player can score a point if the player holds the tile that matches the face-up tile. If the player doesn't show the tile to others, they will miss out on the point.
The player who received 15 tiles during tile distribution begins the play by discarding one tile, face up. After this, each player in turn may either take the tile just discarded by the previous player, or draw the next tile from the supply in the center of the table or “The bank”, and must then discard one unwanted tile. This continues in anticlockwise rotation until a player forms a winning hand and exposes it, ending the play.
The usual rule is that you are allowed to look through all the tiles in the discard stacks to your right (the tiles you discarded) but you can only see the exposed top tiles of other players' discard stacks on the other side of the table.
Tiles are always drawn from the topmost tile from the bank or from the previous player’s discard stack. The exposed tile can never be drawn. When there are no tiles left in the center except the single exposed tile, the tiles are shuffled from the discard piles from every player and placed in the center. Game-play continues until a player forms a hand and exposes the tile, and wins that round!
If you like Rummikub or Rummy, Okey is the perfect game for you! This classic tile-based game is all about strategy and focus.
