About LINK UP Native

Link-Up is an exciting and educational vocabulary game for native speakers and users of English at a high level, in which players have to enter two letters which complete one word and which also begin another word. Words are displayed randomly and taken from a database containing over 12,000 combinations. Any unknown words can be looked up in the onboard dictionary. The game is an excellent way of testing your existing knowledge, of learning new vocabulary, of brushing up your spelling and of challenging your brain! Playing against friends is also a lot of fun!

The game can be played by one player only, in 'Individual Mode' or against other players or teams, in 'Competition Mode'. In 'Individual Mode' you play the game on your own. When you have entered your name, or selected it from the menu, press 'Start' to begin the game.

You will see the beginning of one word and the end of another, for example:

carr__ and __herwise

You have to enter two letters which will complete the first word and start the second, in this example, you enter 'ot' and then you will see the words:
carrot and otherwise.

If the letters you enter are not correct, you will see a message that tells you that your input is wrong and that you can try again.

If you don't know which letters are correct, you can press 'Show answer' and you will see the two complete words with the two missing letters entered.

You can click on to any word and see its meaning in the onboard dictionary.

You can see your current score as you play, and your total score when you want to exit the game.
All of your scores are saved and you can see them the next time you play.

There is no time limit in 'Individual Mode'.In 'Competition Mode', the game is played by 2, 3 or 4 people or teams.

Here also, you will see the beginning of one word and the end of another, for example:

 carr__ and __herwise

. You have to enter two letters which will complete the first word and start the second, in this example, you enter 'ot' and then you will see the words:
