About Traverso Fingers

Traverso Fingering is an interactive fingering chart for the baroque flute.

When you open the app you are presented with the fingering display view. You can select notes by either dragging the note displayed on the staff or by clicking the up or down arrows. To get chromatics you must click the arrows. You can choose whether you prefer seeing chromatics as sharps or as flats by changing the "Chromatic Spelling" setting.

Once the note is selected, you can touch one of the buttons in the lower half of the view to select the basic note, one of the alternates or one of the trill fingerings.

I have provided hints for some of the fingerings, including whether they play sharp or flat. Note that you select notes as if all are played in equal temperament, but where there are clear alteratives for the flat or sharp notes comments show to differentiate them. For example G# vs Ab fingerings.

Keep in mind that many of the alternate and trill fingerings will behave differently on different flutes. So please try them out with a tuner and adjust as necessary for your instrument.
