Don’t waste your time

I signed up for FotoFetch as a professional photographer and it was a mistake. They move the goalposts, change requirements after the job is done, and then claim your work doesn’t qualify so they don’t have to pay you. When I pushed back about getting paid for a completed job, I was told I’m not a contractor or employee, just a “supplier of digital goods,” and that they simply won’t buy my content if they say it doesn’t meet their internal rules. In practice that means you take all the risk—time, fuel, and effort—while they keep all the power to walk away owing you nothing. The pattern is clear: they send you out to shoot, then reject images for reasons that weren’t in the original brief, or demand unpaid reshoots that weren’t your fault. If you push back, they can delete the job and your account. What really bothers me is how one-sided this setup is. You’re doing real work, spending real money on gas and equipment wear, and they’ve structured the whole system so they have “final say” on whether your photos are acceptable. That gives them all the leverage to reject anything they want. Other photographers report the same issues: arbitrary rejections, shifting standards, and a business model that feels designed to extract free work from people who can’t afford to fight back. If you’re thinking about signing up, understand this is not a professional partnership. It’s a high-risk gamble with your time and resources, where the platform holds all the cards and you’re left hoping they’ll decide to actually pay you for work you’ve already completed. My advice: don’t waste your time or gas. There are better ways to build your business than working for a platform that treats photographers as disposable. I’d rate them zero if I could.

Great side, side job

I’ve been using this app for almost 2 years and mostly like it. Unfortunately, the jobs aren’t regular enough to be a full time job or even a side job. It’s more like a side job to your side job. That said, the work in pretty easy and straightforward if you’re a photographer or drone pilot. The app is a little clunky tho. Conversations on their text portal can be problematic. You’ll get a notification of a text but it won’t appear in the text thread until you exit the thread then re-open it. While the pay is decent, it should be more. They underestimate the time needed for a job and to do the job right. If they don’t like the work you did, they won’t pay you. While this is how most jobs operate, the pay should be higher or the time estimates should be longer.
