About TrioHarmony
The most useful feature of the app is the ability to mute specific parts of the recording. Want to hear only the tenor part, so you can figure out what you’re supposed to be singing? Mute all the other parts and listen to the tenor alone. Once you’ve learned the tenor part, go back and play the song again with all the other parts at full volume but mute the original tenor part, so you can sing tenor yourself with the rest of the parts. The app also allows you to adjust the tempo and key of the recording, in case you decide you want to play faster or slower, higher or lower. Want to play breaks for the song? Select the version that has solos, then mute the solos part, and play your own break to your heart’s content.

Useful!
I think this is a really nice, authentic way to learn harmony parts to classic bluegrass and folk songs. I like that it’s not digitally tuned and overly perfect. That makes it easier to hear the genuine sound of the vocals. The app itself is easy to use and has all the features you’d need to learn bluegrass and folk harmonies, whichever part you’re interested in. Make sure to check out the written sections though, I think they’re really helpful.

Great idea, but not well executed
Such a shame that the voices are not in tune, and not even all of the harmonies are correct. I am hearing places where there are two parts singing the same note, which should never happen in traditional bluegrass, three-part harmony. This is a fabulous idea, and I think needed! This could, in theory, get people started. Kudos to you for putting this out!
