WHAT THIS APP DOESN'T OFFER
» Separation of multiple instruments:
The note recognition can't separate multiple instruments. If you record multiple instruments playing simultaneously you will get bad transcription results!
» Live note recognition:
This app is not able to show you live note recognition results. Instead, it will take some time to perform the frequency analysis and show you the results.
» 100% match percentage:
This app won't detect 100% of the played notes and there will also be wrong detections. But depending on the quality of the input signal, it will give you useful suggests!

WHY DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT?
You create an account to ensure that only you can access your created sheet music!
A lot of computing power is necessary to generate the scores from the audio, so it needs to run on a powerful server in the cloud.
Also, you can access your sheets from the desktop version, too, by signing in using the same account.

» Transcribing audio to sheet music is a computation expensive process and needs to be run on a powerful server in the cloud. Your PREMIUM purchase supports us paying our checks and developing new features for the app.
» The FREE version of this app covers Microphone and YouTube transcriptions. Uploading your own files is a PREMIUM feature.
» In the FREE version sheets are limited to 40 bars (about 2 minutes). Upgrading to PREMIUM will unlock the full sheet.
» PREMIUM subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and you will continue to use PREMIUM features until the end of the subscription period.

Off with a chance of meatball

Kudos for letting me to try for free… hence two stars. It needs a login or your email though. I hummed a song and the result was amazingly off. Like jokingly off. But the total length was the same so at least tried to make some random song or whatever. What should I do? Perhaps nothing. I’m gonna try again one more time later in a more quiet environment. N1: Use AirPod pro to record. N2: there is a guide pop up that tells you about things it can do. I think the UI is well made for such app. N3: Monthly cost 4.99 USD as of today.

My honest opinion on it.

I used to really like Melody Scanner because it promised to make music transcription easy and accessible. At first, I was impressed by how quickly it could analyze melodies and turn them into sheet music. The app seemed perfect for musicians looking to learn songs or create arrangements without spending hours manually transcribing. I was excited to use it regularly. However, my experience took a major downturn when I realized the app doesn’t allow me to add the YouTube songs I want. This was a huge disappointment because I often find music on YouTube that isn’t available elsewhere, and I expected Melody Scanner to support this seamlessly. Instead, the app restricts importing from YouTube, making it impossible to use with many of my favorite tracks. This limitation feels like a bait-and-switch after all the initial hype. To make matters worse, the app offers no clear workaround or explanation for why YouTube integration is so limited. It feels like a major feature that’s either broken or intentionally blocked behind a paywall or restrictive subscription. This severely restricts the app’s usefulness and makes it feel less like a helpful tool and more like a frustrating obstacle. I also found the customer support unhelpful when I reached out to ask about this issue. The responses were vague and didn’t provide any solutions or timelines for fixing the problem. For an app that claims to be designed for musicians, this lack of transparency and responsiveness is unacceptable. In conclusion, Melody Scanner has become nearly useless for my needs because of its inability to process YouTube songs. What started as a promising tool has turned into a frustrating experience that wastes time and money. I would not recommend it to anyone who wants real flexibility with their music sources.

It always says I have errors and it won’t make My music so what’s the point in having it if it won’t work?I deleted it because it had so many errors

Not too bad

The reviews made me think it was gonna be unusable, but I put in a relatively hard piano song, and it wasn’t THAT bad. If you have an easy piano song I’d say go for it

Has not worked once

The product hasn’t worked a single time i’ve tried it, with a million different errors that seem more like excuses. I payed for premium just to get a faulty product. I’ve tried uploading youtube videos with clean audio, uploading an mp3, and recording my playing, none of which worked. If possible i’d like to get my money back.

It doesn’t work once you pay.

I tried the free trail and the program worked okay, not great, but good enough for what I needed. Once I paid for the premium version, it hasn’t worked. Can’t even open YouTube to transpose a song. Rubbish.
