About PsychRef
PsychRef is meant to be a psychiatry pocket reference for medical professionals. It allows you to quickly access the relevant treatment guidelines for common psychiatric disorders and also contains concise prescribing information for over 60 medications. To support the goal of evidence based practice, we have included a section that contains summaries of important papers published in the field of psychiatry. We will continue to update and add to the guidelines, medications and research paper summaries over time. To get quick evidence based answers to clinical questions, we have included a semantic search of Canadian Psychiatric guidelines, in which you can simply type in your question and receive a detailed response. Please note that the summarization portion of this semantic search is performed by gpt-4o and as a result should not be solely depended upon for clinical decisions. I designed this app initially for myself, as there were no applications on the iOS App Store that fulfilled this niche. I continue to use the application on a regular basis in my practice and as such have tailored it to be useful to myself and my colleagues. This app will always remain completely free to use.
