This app is a godsend for my studying and sleep. I tried Brain.fm a while back and couldn’t stand it… So I am astonished that this is free. It’s super customizable- you pick your vibe (like various categories of jazz, lo-fi, strings, etc) and then you can toggle and tweak the volume on additional options like rain, river, white noise, birds, etc.

I see the vision
Two things stick out from my perspective because I had to study music growing up. First, a lot of the selections are unfortunately extremely distracting because even though the music isn’t necessarily BAD, it doesn’t make sense. Particularly anything jazzy or featuring a leading instrument that has a melody that moves around a lot. The second thing is that within one selection there’s totally different vibes that’d be distracting to suddenly switch between. In particular, I really liked a track in Heartland Harmonies that was sort of slow and sweet, but the track that followed was super fast and upbeat, like for square dancing. Another thing is that a lot of selections and tracks are way too loud to hear the other ambience noises even when they’re turned all the way up. I wanted to adjust the volume of the main track only, tapped the audio button thinking I’d get a slider for it, and was properly startled when my device audio suddenly jumped up. I think I could use this for when I’m drawing or writing, but it would be kind of irritating if I was studying or reading.
