The Worst Version
I love these games , I’ve been playing last day of work games since I was a kid on my moms pc. I’ve played every version of virtual villagers and families and tycoons, so let me be the one to tell you to skip this version. They took out all the best parts of the game and added problems and a community. Yeah the contests are cool, but the game is unplayable without watching ads over and over and over for free coins or worse to purchase coins with real money. If you work hard to avoid that, the game makes you go bankrupt with your family. It doesn’t matter how many times I take my peep in to the family doc or self medicate, they have to go to the hospital twice and they MIGHT feel better, no watching symptoms and buying medicine for a reasonable price. Just a 480 hospital bill every time, which is about what you can make in a day. You can’t have them drink water for hiccups and if you don’t cure even just hiccups they wind up with an infection. The paint for the house is constantly changed when I log back in. I have to watch an ad to get the peeps full pay. The decor and cleaning supplies spawn off the counters I put them on. The house customization would be worth it if it didn’t make it impossible to put things on the walls like towel racks, which your peep will be upset without. You don’t have to log on to buy them food, which might be good but would have been a motivator for me to keep coming back. And I can keep going. The controls? Garbage, I have to click so hard on the peep and then they don’t want to be dragged, at first I thought it was my phone but I went and downloaded the newest virtual villagers and had no issues. Building and decorating the house is nearly impossible to do without a rage quit because you’re so likely to accidentally delete the room you just did instead of confirm it, because why would the red x not just put it back? That would be too easy. Plus, when you have a baby, you have to budget a huge amount of space for each crib because it’s too hard for our virtual lady to carry the baby. Endearing at first, became a problem with the fact that the game keeps trying to get me to add to the house and I can’t because I have two cribs taking up half the room. This version is truly the worst version of the virtual families series. If I could get my time and life back that I spent on this one, I would be asking for a refund. Last Day of Work might have gotten new designers, but either way, they really dropped the ball this time.
