About Checkin: Find Your People
Checkin helps you find your people in real places, in real time.
You open the app when you are already out in the world – at a pub, café, hostel, airport, gallery, or event. You check in to the place you are at and see who else is here or nearby and open to connecting.
No swiping. Just a simple way to see people around you and start a real conversation when it feels right.
How Checkin works
• Check in to where you are:
Pick the venue you are at and tap to check in. We mark you as “here” without showing your exact address on a map.
• See who is here and nearby:
See people who have also checked in to the same place. With premium, you can also see people who have checked in to nearby venues.
• Filter by how you want to connect:
Find people for Social, Work or Travel, and use interests and short bios to see who you might click with.
• Send a Connect or a Hi:
Send a Connect request, or a simple Hi as a gentle nudge. If they accept, you can chat and see where it goes while you are still in the same area.
Built for people who are already out
Checkin is for the nights and days when you are already out of the house:
• Grabbing a drink at your local
• Staying in a hostel or a hotel in a new city
• Waiting at the airport for the next flight
• Wandering through a gallery or a market
• At a conference and keen to meet people outside the formal sessions
It gives you a quiet signal that says, “someone here is open to a chat”, without turning the room into a game.
Privacy by design
Your safety and comfort come first.
• Only people who have checked in to the same venue can see that you are there.
• We do not show your exact location to people outside the place you are in.
• You choose when to check in, when to reply, and you can leave any time by checking out.
What is coming next
We are also working on features like small real world events (Circles) and live offers from venues, which will roll out in future updates. Our goal stays the same: help you use your phone to step into the room, not away from it.
