JITTOR - Surgical Checklists

Just-In-Time-Teaching for the Operating Room (JITTOR) is a Mobile App created as a surgical teaching tool for Obstetrics and Gynecology trainees. It contains a comprehensive number of checklists for obstetrical and gynecological procedures and surgeries. JITTOR helps learners refresh relevant knowledge immediately before the activity. JITTOR reduces cognitive load and increases the efficiency of information processing. However, it is not meant to replace more comprehensive educational tools such as textbook reading, simulation, visual imagery or aids, or live surgical teaching. We envision learners using the app as they ride in an elevator on the way to surgery or while walking down the hall before a procedure.
