DO NOT download it with a U.S. Apple ID
You’ll need to pay if you are a U.S. Apple ID. With a Chinese Apple ID, you can use it for free, without any limit. Verified on version 1.11.0.

A trick to bypass payment
Guys if you run into a paywall, you can try this: look up a shared Apple ID for an Asian region, switch your App Store account to that Asian account, and then download the app. You shouldn’t hit the paywall that way. It’s been tested and confirmed that accounts from these regions work: Japan, South Korea, China, and India.

Absolutely love this tool
