Mystery of Myths: Mystery of the Fjords by LynxMinx
Attention gamers: Elephant released City of Enigma yesterday. Unfortunately it’s a f2p, and the price is $19.99. They have some nerve. A developer is supposed to release a game to the paying population first, and then make a f2p version. Do not purchase it! Elephant has succeeded in alienating an entire population of paying iOS gamers. They don’t realize that they have proverbially cut off their nose to spite their face; in other words, they will lose revenue on the game. I have sent them a rather unpleasant email. On the other hand, Living Legends: Frozen Destiny is a great game, and I can highly recommend it. Just purchase, play and enjoy! As per usual, Friendly Fox has released an incredible gem of an adventure. On to the game. First of all, last week was an utter fiasco! (Two black HO screens and TWO fatal errors; do you know how exhausting it was to get it fixed? As usual I threatened Oleg with a loss of revenue.) I was dreading this game, because I envisioned a repeat performance of said fiasco. I might not be a fan of Norse mythology, but to my surprise I actually enjoyed the overall gameplay. For a change, the game ran smoothly, save for the lack of touchscreen sensitivity and the need to scroll through countless pages in the strategy guide if you don’t know what to do next. Thankfully,I don’t use a strategy guide but a newer gamer still might need to do so. Domini needs to put accessible chapter headings on the guide. The chapters could not be accessed individually. Oh, and Oleg put the obnoxious sales timer clocks back into the game. After two separate hour-long clocks, I encountered a two-hour clock. I was so angry I read Oleg the riot act and it magically disappeared. Some of the inventory usage was banal (repeatedly fanning toxic fumes and digging) but there were several innovative tools to utilize. Domini included an enjoyable mix of HO scenes (except the ones with runes; I detest runes!) and 56 mini-games. The game was very lengthy and there was a plethora of unique tasks to accomplish. If it were not for the needless timer clocks, and a dearth of touchscreen sensitivity, I would have given the game 5 stars. But unless a game is perfect, I refuse to do so. But I will give credit where it is due. This was a good solid game and I did not have to deal much with Oleg! So my rating will remain at 4 stars. Note to all gamers: if you want me to keep dealing with all of the misery associated with Domini, and to a lesser degree, Elephant, you had better show some appreciation! Do you have any idea how much work it takes to encourage these developers to repair quality assurance glitches in a very timely manner? It’s very tiresome and I have been doing it for 15 years now. (especially after the BigFish debacle). Words of gratitude go a long way, and if I don’t see any from you, next time there’s a fatal error, YOU try getting it fixed. I promise you will get nowhere. If I had to pay to play, I don’t know if I would even bother. My work with the developers is massive (except for Friendly Fox, who is a joy!) and endless. It has detracted from my love of gaming to a large extent, because I’m not a youngster any longer. Remember, I do it for all of my loyal fans! It is not a paid position and I do NOT work for Domini, although sometimes it sure does feel that way. So send some love my way, for a change!
