Perfect alternative to YouTube Kids
I took a chance buying this app without being able to try it first. I’m sincerely glad that I did. See, my spouse and I have recently allowed our toddler to start watching some videos on YouTube Kids. She likes songs from Sesame Street, Ms. Rachel, and Super Simple. We try not to let her venture too far outside these bounds, but try as we might, YouTube Kids algorithmically suggests all sorts of garbage videos that are annoying or non-educational. This continuously happens, even if we block individual videos or even entire channels. To get rid of a certain prolific "Mr", I had to block like 30 different channels. I don’t like having to closely curate her experience to protect her from YouTube’s poor algorithm, and I needed a solution that would enable her to watch videos on long car rides or plane flights. So I had the big brain idea to download the videos she likes from YouTube and then use an offline video player to let her watch them. Enter Easy Kids Video Player, which is designed to mimic the YouTube Kids interface. Now I just download videos that I like for my kid, drop them into the correct folder via the Files.app, and they are easily detected and displayed in Easy Kids. Thank you for creating this software!
