Tired of wondering what's really in your food? Food Ingredient Scanner uses your camera and advanced AI to read and analyze food ingredients—just like a human would, but faster and smarter.
No barcode? No problem. Our app doesn’t need one. Unlike competing apps that rely on barcodes, our app can read and interpret printed ingredients directly. Since it's not limited by the size of a database, it can analyze millions of products. A barcode just represents an ID number. Other apps typically use them to look up foods (and their ingredients) in a remote food database. Unfortunately, most of these databases are incomplete, slow, and outdated.
While nothing beats reading the real ingredients with AI, as a backup (when a food label is damaged or unreadable), our app lets you instantly scan barcodes too. The app can recognize barcodes and look up ingredients for close to a million different foods.
In 2-5 seconds, the app highlights every ingredient—flagging over 500 potentially harmful or controversial substances in red, and calling out over 300 superfoods in green. It also searches for your own custom keywords and ingredients. Tap on any red or green item to get a concise explanation of what it is and why it matters. It can even scan ingredients when the package is turned on its side or upside down.

Doesn’t always work
Bad UI but more importantly bad UX. Clunky and hard to use.

Very helpful for a new mom
As a new mom concerned with ingredients safety and healthily eating, this has been incredibly helpful to have on hand to make decisions for myself and my child’s food consumption. I use it while food shopping and at home! My husband loves it too.
