ViaOpta Simulator

ViaOpta Sim allows patients with visual impairments to better explain their eye conditions to friends, family, caregivers and colleagues. The app will also help patients themselves to gain a greater understanding of their condition and how it can develop.
Doctors will be able to use this app to educate patients about their condition.
The app provides:
- Live simulations of 12 visual impairments which can be seen at different levels of severity: initial, intermediate, advanced (where applicable)
- Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO)
- Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO)
- Myopic choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Vitreomacular traction (VMT)
- Diabetic Macular Edema (DME)
- Glaucoma
- Cataracts
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) - Wet and Dry AMD have been combined into a single filter
- Retinitis Pigmentosa
- Dry Eye
- Presbyopia

- A personalised view of ‘My condition’ allowing users to save a specific condition setting
- The ability for users to share the filters with family and friends
