About ClueKeeper
What's a clue hunt?
A clue hunt is a game in which the players solve clues that lead them from one to the next. The clues can be straightforward questions, physical challenges, clever puzzles or riddles, or whatever else the hunt creator can imagine. With the help of our friends from Zappar, we even support augmented reality clues!
A hunt might send players searching around their local park, through the best-kept secret spots of their city, or even across state lines. ClueKeeper hunts provide a great way to have fun and explore your surroundings in a new and exciting way! Our app even works offline, allowing you to explore off-the-beaten path areas without a consistent cell connection.
To get started, try out the sample hunt "Welcome to ClueKeeper"!

Great app, but spoils skipped puzzles
We used this app during a DASH event. The app worked well and made the event more enjoyable. It was easy to use and I was impressed with how well it handled the hints. My only complaint is I wish it didn’t spoil skipped puzzles. We had skipped a puzzle, but wanted to revisit it during a later meal break. But you can’t avoid seeing the answer while working on subsequent puzzles. I realize answers are needed for meta puzzles, but it’d be nice if the answer only appeared on the specific puzzle page and not on the puzzle list, maybe even hidden like hints are. Otherwise, great app!

Worked Great!
My son wanted a scavenger hunt in the neighborhood for his 17th birthday party so we chose ClueKeeper to help us with the daunting task. I created 10 clues, 6 teams, 18 participants. I used GPS coordinates, and made the game a little more interactive with the task of videoing an activity after each answered clue, then they texted the video to the game master, and then I would text them the access code for the next clue. I had to double check and tweak my GPS coordinates a couple of times during the planning process. Some were off the mark by a few dozen meters, but if you widen the default geo fencing — then you won’t have a problem. Just go back and make sure it has your spot within the radius again. My only flaw was using Chat GPT to develop my clues, I knew better than not to have checked it’s math and facts. All said and done — the game was a huge success, and I’m “Mom of the Year.” Not sure I’ll ever be able to top this party. This was one for the history books.
