This app calculates the moon position, phase, nakshatra, and active organ from Chinese medicine for the present moment. Like a diary, you can then record this moment with notes and other details for future reflection. When you go back and look through your notes you can easily see the different qualities for the moment and thereby see if a pattern of causality exists. This app was created primarily for Yoga practitioners who wish to “organize” their experiences with this information. Some explanations are provided by the app but it is expected that the user will research further or already have an inkling of the information presented.
The app makes the calculations at the moment and does not depend on outside ephemera tables. Calculations are based primarily on the formulas presented in Jean Meeus’ Astronomical Algorithms. Other sources include Siddha Siddhanta Paddhati by Gorakhnath and Tirumantiram by Tirumular.
This first version is barebones. Future updates are planned in the coming weeks that will add more functionality and information.

In older times, people followed not only seasonal cycles but other, more subtle cycles. Health was maintained by performing different activities at the proper time through intuitive understanding of Micro and Macrocosmic cycles. In the modern age we have lost our connection to these different cycles.
The current popularity of Yoga mirrors a longing for a deeper resonance with our environment and search for ways to live complementary with nature. Through focus on the breath in Yoga, one can start to develop an intuitive feeling for the cycles.
The ancients developed the sciences of Swara and Astrology to guide us to balance. The understanding of these subjects are laid down in many different texts, including: Shiva Svarodaya, Tirumantiram, Siddha Siddhanta Paddhati, and numerous others. Time In calculates some of these different cycles so the user can know and understand these undercurrents. There is a diary component so important events can be recorded in real time for later contemplation and growth.
