If you need a unit converter, just look for one on Google
I’m going to write fancy unit converter one star and here’s why. On the positive side, the app has no ads, the user interface is simple to understand, and it delivers quick answers for the few conversions it does offer. I appreciate those aspects. However, the overall experience is extremely frustrating. Many of the most basic and essential units are locked behind a paywall, which severely limits the app’s usefulness. For example, under temperature conversions, only Celsius and Kelvin are available for free—if you want Fahrenheit, you have to pay. This is very unreasonable, considering Fahrenheit is one of the most commonly used temperature units. It doesn’t stop there. In the acceleration category, the default option is miles per hour per minute, which is not scientifically standard. Basic scientific units like meters per second squared (m/s²) should be available by default, not hidden or missing altogether. In the length category, you can only convert between feet and meters, with no option for inches, which is another obvious oversight. The currency converter is even more limited: it only allows conversions between USD and EUR. With so many currencies used worldwide, blocking the rest behind a paywall is outrageous. Finally, in the time category, you can only convert between minutes and hours—extremely limited and impractical for many real-world needs. As someone who values accuracy and practicality, especially for scientific purposes, I found this app very disappointing. While I understand the need for developers to monetize their apps, blocking so many basic and essential units makes the app almost unusable without payment. In short, I would not recommend FancyUnits Converter. There are far better free alternatives available online that offer much broader functionality without paywalls for basic features.

Celsius and Kelvin?
I’m a dumb American. When I travel I have to look up 24 hr time, kilometers, Celsius, and currency constantly. The app I’ve been using is very old so I thought I would try a new one. This one is just not gonna work though. First it doesn’t have a widget. Second, the presets are silly. Celsius and Kelvin? No idea what I would need that for. Why not Celsius and Fahrenheit? To add or change any of these presets you need a subscription but I’m not paying for something I haven’t been able to use yet.
