Valence Portal

Valence Portal is an app for users to connect to an IBM Power System Server running IBM i. The Valence Portal prompts for a valid IBM i user and password, then provides a launchpad from which the user can run apps that have been developed for use with the Valence Framework. In addition to handling menu functions, security, library lists and user overrides, Valence Portal also provides app-level access to native iOS device features such as camera, contacts, GPS, etc. This makes it possible to develop apps that, for example, take pictures on an iOS device, collect GPS information to go with the image and store the data on the IBM i for use in other RPG programs.

You must have Valence Framework version 4.1 or higher installed and running on your IBM i in order for Valence Portal to function. To obtain the Valence Framework, download the installer program on your Mac or PC by navigating to cnxcorp.com/valence and click on the "Download Free" button.
