From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Added ADS?!?
The app seriously added ads to it. This changed my entire set up in app, and now I can’t access any of the features I previously could. I can literally ONLY watch live. What’s the point in having a camera when it doesn’t record ANYTHING??? And when you try to access your app you get ad after ad after ad? Canary has sold out, got money hungry, and I’ll just stick with Ring. An update after the developer response: I was a paying customer for 8 years. I moved to the free version because I’ve been using my ring cameras due to having multiple of them and their multiple cams plan being the same price as Canary’s ONE camera plan. There is no customer retention. There is no care about how long a customer has been with you. They are a money hungry company and only care about who is giving them money every month/year and is filled with the same generic excuses. Even on the paid plan, you’d have constant pop ups to upgrade to their home monitoring plan. Stay away from Canary, Ring is better, more customizable, cheaper, and cares about their customers.

Noise outside, open app as the camera starts to display view, a stupid cartoon game ad for 3year olds pops up blocking the view, by the time I get the view back it’s too late
