About SwingTalk

SwingTalk is a device that provides comprehensive data on your swing when it is attached to the grip of a golf club.
SwingTalk sensor provides a perfect wireless connection to your smartphone using Bluetooth.
Users can view the trajectory of their swing in 3D, and key data such as swing tempo and club speed is provided through audio, allowing the user to concentrate on their golf rather than watching the screen.

1. Analyzes the swing motion and breaks it down into swing tempo and speed, club trajectory and speed, and other information when it is attached to the grip of a golf club.

2. Displays swing analysis on the smartphone which is also read by a synchronized voice.

3. Key analysis data is provided through audio, allowing the user to concentrate on his or her swing rather than watching the screen. By using the Bluetooth headset, the smartphone doesn't even need to be in immediate proximity of the user - it could be in a pocket or backpack.

4. The trajectory of the club and shaft is actually measured and displayed, allowing a thorough swing analysis as well as detailed information of the movement of the shaft and the timing of the release. This allows golfers to master casting, lagging, delayed hit and the other essential skills needed to reach a professional skill level.

5. The characteristics of the swing are determined among 9 types by analyzing key factors such as ball type and the trajectory of the club and the face angle.

6. The swing is analyzed by breaking into phases, such as address, backswing, backswing top, downswing, impact, and more. Famous golf instructors always highlight these phases as key points.

7. Users can save and load their swings with the Swingtalk Cloud feature, which can even be used to replay swings made in the past. It is possible to compare current swings with past ones in this way.

Frequently locks up with iOS 11

This was a pretty nice tool with older iOS versions. I used this for the past year but not he last 5 months. After upgrading the iOS a month back, the app frequently locks up which I have to quit the app and reconnect. Especially after analyzing a swing. It feels like every 5-8 swings this app locks up and becomes unusable. This app is now buggy... --g2

Needs some smarts

Trying to learn a golf swing? This app and the Bluetooth-connected device you must buy and plug into the butt end of a golf club handle won't accomplish that goal on their own. What you get instead is data: angles and movement results for each captured swing and an animation of said swing. You also get a brief written summary defining each of the data points. What do you do with this data to improve your golf swing? That will depend on either your self-teaching skills or the services of a person who can translate your data into actual swing changes. Because the app does little to integrate the various measurements of club face, club path and other angles of a golf swing, you will be hard-pressed to use the data to rebuild your swing without expert help, unless you have enough theoretical knowledge to turn such esoteric data as "Angle to Path" into targeted practice drills for your particular swing. The "talk" feature here is simply an audio announcement of swing speed and tempo; nice but not especially useful if what you actually want to know is your swing path. For that, you must dig into data details that are tough to read on an iPhone on an outdoor driving range. What an app such as this needs in order to help the everyday golfer is a complete rewrite to analyze the captured data and deliver instructions on how to fix evidenced swing faults. Until then, you'll have to be your own golf guru, which reminds me of the expression: "He who represents himself has a fool for a client."
