JOKOTOKI
Jokotoki is a Basque word which means : Joko – Game and Toki – Space or Place.
What’s more it is a young company full of enthusiasm and made up of a team of designers, engineers, artists, marketers, teachers and educators, whose aim is to create quality digital games.
New devices such as tablets and smartphones provide boys and girls with a wide range of possibilities to learn and play in a brand new interactive way. That is to learn by playing and having fun.
The Magic Pond
Any great journey starts out with a first step and Magic Pond is our first App – the first step of an exciting project. Not only have we created a nice and friendly magical space, but one that is educational and fun as well. This is a space where children can and must freely touch, play and discover while accompanied by their parents. We want them to look around and discover, laugh, sing, play and learn with us.
Each girl and boy will discover things and progress at their own pace. All this done freely and by themselves, but always backed up by a grown-up.
Magic Pond is divided up into four different areas and presented by a cute little green frog. The Magic Pond is found in the middle area. Everything moves and everything can be touched. The little frog sings “Row, row, row the boat…” Let´s see who is the first to catch sight of the polar bear!
The flowers are not what they seem. They are actually butterflies. You try to wake up the lady bug and then give her a little push to see if she flies.
We want to stimulate the child’s curiosity and imagination. There is not final aim or goal. Each child follows his own pace and should they grow tired or get bored, you just click on the little house and go on to something else.
The Game with the Chameleons
Here you find ten friendly chameleons hiding in the jungle with Caribbean music playing in the background. Sometimes the last chameleon hides so well that Mom or Dad has to help find it. (That is if they are able to.) And if no one can find it, there is no problem. You click on the little house and start over.
The Game with the Frog and the Moon
The little frog dreams about reaching the moon and he has fun blowing soap-bubbles during the night in the Magic Pond. Each bubble that bursts turns into a step of light that will eventually reach the moon.
The Pond’s Band
A rock band plays in the Magic Pond when night falls. In this game you have to place each musician in the right place so that everyone plays at the same time following the beat. What rhythm that drummer has! And does the pianist play well!
We do not like children’s apps which come with advertising. Nor do we approve of the idea that the children do not have access to certain parts of the game unless the parents have previously bought them. ( in-app purchases). Therefore, you will never find these in our apps.
We really hope you enjoy our Magic Pond app. If you would like to learn more about Jokotoki apps, please look for ‘jokotokiapp‘ on Facebook. Also at www.jokotoki.com
Nothing would make us smile more than a kind review on the app store.
