Restores is a completely free mobile application that allows you to retrieve information about native plant species from the Atlantic Forest. Its purpose is to be easily used, being conceived and organized to be used by lay people or specialists in Agriculture.
The information provided by Restaura is public and can be easily used by people or organizations that are interested in contributing to the recovery of this important Brazilian biome. Restaura aims to facilitate the dissemination of information on plant species that can be used in reforestation projects.
Restaura was fully conceived, designed and developed by a multidisciplinary team of students from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) during the stages of Embrapa's Academic Hackathon (Agrobiology - Seropédica - RJ). The developers are graduates of the UFRRJ Information Systems and Agronomy courses and members of the UFRRJ PET-SI program (r1.ufrrj.br/petsi).
The development team is called Dobereiner, a tribute to the great Brazilian researcher Johanna Döbereiner who started a research program on the limiting aspects of biological nitrogen fixation (FBN) in tropical legumes, having her name on the Nobel Prize nomination list .
