About AGLV 560 CANDIDA SP.

Goal:
This experiment allows the visualization of vegetative fungal structures, developing macroscopic and microscopic identification skills of the etiological agents of mycoses.

At the end of this experiment, you should be able to:

Identify yeast-like fungi.
Recognize vegetative fungal structures.
Report the results observed.
Applications:
These concepts are fundamental for the accurate diagnosis of mycoses, enabling the appropriate choice of effective treatments for patients.

The Experiment:
Use Sabouraud agar or potato agar, 20-40% KOH or lactophenol, and instruments such as a disposable fungus loop, slides and coverslips in 70% alcohol, forceps, Petri dish, gauze and scalpel.

Security:
Use gloves, mask and lab coat for adequate protection when handling microorganisms.

Scenario:
Carry out the experiment inside a laminar flow hood, with the supplies and instruments organized. Keep the microscope available on the bench for detailed microscopic analysis.
