In this experiment, we want to verify the behavior of the rate of radiation emitted from a certain material that is positioned near and far from the detector, the latter position being characterized as the rate of radiation emitted in the environment. Finally, using the Beer-Lambert law, with the help of lead and aluminum plates as attenuators of the emitted radiation rate, it is expected to obtain the values of the radiation attenuation coefficients of aluminum and lead.
