1. OBJECTIVE
Stretch marks are aesthetic dysfunctions that cause great aesthetic discomfort, and may present with a more reddish color in the initial stage, easily standing out on the skin; or even, they may present with a whitish color in more advanced stages, and in these cases, may be accompanied by tissue laxity. Regarding the sites of involvement, we can find stretch marks in different areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, breasts and trunk.
At the end of this experiment, you should be able to:
Evaluate and identify the places that have stretch marks;
differentiate stretch marks in early stages from older stretch marks;
identify the cosmetic assets that can be used in the procedure;
understand how microneedling acts in the management of stretch marks;
recognize possible contraindications to this treatment;
correctly apply the steps of an aesthetic treatment protocol for stretch marks;
adjust the technique according to the location of the lesions;
guide the patient/client regarding skin care during treatment;
guide the client/patient regarding care in the Home Care treatment.
2. WHERE TO USE THESE CONCEPTS?
The treatment using the microneedling technique in association with the use of cosmetic actives is indicated for clients/patients with complaints of stretch marks, more specifically stretch marks, which may be present in different parts of the body.
In these cases, the microneedling technique can be associated with other therapeutic modalities in the management of stretch marks, such as electrotherapy, for example, in order to enhance the therapeutic results throughout the treatment sessions.
3. THE EXPERIMENT
In this laboratory activity, we will perform a body aesthetic procedure focused on the treatment of stretch marks, using the microneedling technique associated with the use of cosmetic actives. In the experiment, the skin to be treated will be cleaned and exfoliated. Afterwards, the skin receives the microneedling technique and then receives the anti-stretchmark cosmetic actives, in this case, vitamin C or growth factors. At the end of the application of the experiment, the skin must be free of any products, in order to avoid cases of local hypersensitivity. All stages of this experiment will be properly established to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the experiment.
4. SECURITY
It is very important that the beautician professional properly follow the biosafety norms when using techniques with the aid of a sharp item that will promote damage to the skin and that can cause bleeding, therefore the notions regarding biological risks are essential.
The use of Personal Protective Equipment - PPE is a mandatory requirement from start to finish of the procedure, as well as disposal in an appropriate place using white bags for contaminated waste, while the roller or needles used in the microneedling procedure must be discarded in collection boxes specific, as determined by health surveillance.
It is also important to guide the client/patient to avoid sun exposure during treatment, considering the risk of formation of spots on the skin.
5. SCENARIO
The procedure must be carried out in a laboratory equipped with aesthetics and cosmetics. Before performing the procedure on the client/patient, it is important that all the equipment and cosmetics that will be used are properly organized on the bench or auxiliary trolley; after this previous organization, accommodate the client on the stretcher and carry out the service with the client/patient lying down, in a comfortable position and with the treatment area uncovered.
