Kerispatih was formed on April 21, 2003 on the initiative of 4 Indonesian Institute of Musicians students, Arief, Badai, Andika, and Anton. Initially they formed a band with ethnic instrumental themes, which they composed in a new arrangement. Their first appearance was at Farabi Sunday on April 22, 2003. They recruited Sammy, their colleague on campus, who was one of the top 30 finalists of Indonesian Idol I / 2004, as a vocalist.
Before Kerispatih was formed, Storm also made a C4U album and also served together in the spiritual band Joyfull Ministry together: Robert Ludji (Synthesizer Keyboard & Electric Guitar) Yohanes Setiabudi (Bass), Ongen Ririhena (Drum) & Eric Bastian (Keyboard) Storm (Lead Keyboard). Joyful bands themselves often carry out mission trips to several cities in Indonesia in the late 99 to 2001 era
Their professional career went through after forming the band's management, which was then arranged by Ingga Jaya Purda. Now Kerispatih is incorporated in the management of Bagot'z Production. Kerispatih started recording in 2004. They joined the project of a compilation album titled Gulalikustik (released September 2004), with the major label Nagaswara. Their participation in this album originated from an event organized by a Private Radio Station (88.00 Mustang FM), which was named Gulali (Song of Cendili), which indeed became a forum for new Indonesian creators and bands. In response, Mustang offered Kerispatih in the collaborative project. On the album they donated 2 songs, "Forget Me" and "A Heart for Lovers".
In 2005, Kerispatih released their first album titled Kejujuran Hati. The singles released on this album include: "Honesty of the Heart", "White Love", and "Missing Songs". This album received the Platinum Awards in 2006. Their success was proven as well by being awarded as the New Arrivals New Album at the 2006 SCTV Music Awards. [1]
In 2007, Kerispatih released his second album entitled Kenyataan Perasaan, and released his first single on this album entitled "Mengenangmu", and dominated the Indonesian charts and radio. After the success of "Remembering You", Kerispatih released his second single, entitled "Tapi Bukan Aku", which according to predictions will repeat the success of "Remembering You". They then released their third single titled "All Age" and "For the First Time" as their fourth single. Like their first album, this album also successfully received the Platinum Awards in 2007.
Kerispatih also participated in the 6th President's Republic of Indonesia's first album, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, by singing a song created by SBY titled "Silent". [2]
In June 2008, Kerispatih released his third album, entitled "Not Endless by Time". On this third album, the majority of the songs are composed and composed by Hurricane, Kerispatih keyboardist. Storm also said that this album was a merger of their first album and second album. So, on the third album this is the most perfect impression among the three albums that have been released. On this timeless album, Kerispatih chose the song "When this Rasaku Rasamu" became their first single on this third album.
