Iwan Fals whose real name is Virgiawan Listanto (born in Jakarta, September 3, 1961; age 57 years) is a Ballad, Pop, Rock and Country singer who has become one of the legends in Indonesia.
Through his songs, he 'photographed' the social atmosphere of Indonesian life in the late 70s until now, the life of the world in general, and life itself. Criticism of the behavior of a group of people (such as the People's Representative, Tante Lisa), empathy for marginalized groups (such as Siang Seberang Istana, Lonteku), or major disasters that hit Indonesia (or sometimes outside Indonesia, like Ethiopia) dominated the theme of songs he brought. However, Iwan Fals not only sang his own songs but also a number of other creators.
Iwan, who was also active in sports activities, once won the National Level II Karate Champion and 1989 National Level Karate Champion, was able to enter national training and train karate on his campus, STP (Public High School). Iwan also served as a columnist in several sports tabloids.
