The 2018 FotoQuest Go campaign is over! Thanks a lot for your contribution to our scientific research on land use and cover change in Europe. You can still use the FotoQuest Go app and submit quests, but unfortunately you can not collect any earnings aymore.
***** About FotoQuest Go *****
Every day around 2.5 million m² of soil are being covered by roads, businesses, homes and recreational areas in Europe, which leads to soil degradation and an increasing risk of flooding, water scarcity, unproductive agricultural land and heat waves in cities, contributing to global warming.
With your help, FotoQuest Go can track the effect of these changes in our landscape and help to conserve Europe’s nature for future generations.
We have placed around 340,000 points at a range of locations across Europe. Using the map, find a point near you and follow the instructions to complete each quest. A quest requires you to take photographs of the landscape and answer a few short questions.
Once you complete and upload the results of your quest, scientists at IIASA will check the quality of your data as soon as possible, within 24 hours at the latest. If your contribution passes our quality check, the point you visited will be removed from the map, and you will earn 1, 2 or 3 EUR depending on the distance of the point to the nearest road.
Once a week there will be the chance to win 30 EUR at a point that is located far from roads and urban areas. This point could be in any country in Europe.
The campaign will run between 8 June and 31 August 2018. However, we have a limit on how much we can spend: 10,000 EUR. If we reach this limit before 31 August, we will terminate the campaign before this date. Your total earnings will be transferred to your PayPal account in early September 2018.
