Unreliable chargers and frustrating payment system
Our apartment building uses Loop chargers, and reliability has been consistently poor. Stations frequently fail to initiate charging, and when they do start, sessions often terminate around 10% state of charge without explanation. The app is unstable, and payment authorization regularly fails. In practice, this forces users to preload funds onto a Loop wallet, which is non-refundable. That creates a captive-customer situation where you’re required to front money for a service that frequently doesn’t work. For a residential installation — where tenants rely on overnight charging — uptime and reliability are critical. Based on repeated failures and unresolved issues, this network has not met basic reliability expectations.
