About Tape Cassette 2
Along with a brand new selectable Type 1 Cassette Impulse Response (IR), we’ve improved the saturation algorithm, wow & flutter engine and implemented real sampled tape noise, all which results in a wonderfully warm and more accurate vintage sound. In addition to this you now have two VU meters to monitor your audio and built in oversampling.
You can easily add that classic sound to an entire track, or use directly on individual channels, for added movement, texture and warmth. Alternatively you can take it further than the material limitations of tape and push the parameters into a far more experimental soundscape, as a sound design tool.
Parameters:
⁃ Saturation (+/-24dB)
⁃ Low Pass Filter (5 to 22KHz)
⁃ Noise (-80 to 0 dB)
⁃ Wow (0 to 100%)
⁃ Flutter (0 to 100%)
- IR (On/Off)
- Auto-Gain (On/Off)
- Output (+/-24dB)
Tape Cassette 2 is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.

Great plugin! Does require near-constant updates…
I just wanna get the good stuff out of the way in saying that this is a PHENOMENAL emulator/plugin! This is my go-to when I try emulating a Mellotron on GarageBand for iOS. The only bad thing is that I have to update this app at least once a week or two. Not sure why and it can get a bit annoying but I’d say it’s worth it.

Caelum Audio is in my watch list! Fun and Amazing!
CA has such a unique way of looking at how technology and music mesh in this new digital age! I didn’t even know there was an international joke day … but thanks to these guys I look forward to I.J.D. as much as I used to look forward to Christmas as a child! I imagine working at CA would be a blast, and it shows in the fun they bring to their approach to sound! Thanks guys, honestly, you have made recording in IOS fun again! For that you deserve a shout out. Much Love!
