About TLAR

The TLAR ("That Looks About Right!") app is designed to improve general aviation pilot situational awareness of aircraft performance. TLAR computes takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing performance of the following single-engine piston-powered aircraft types (more models will be added over time):

• Bonanza A36 (A36)
• Cessna 152 (C152)
• Cessna 170B (C170B)
• Cessna 172M (C172M)
• Cessna 172N (C172N)
• Cessna 172S (C172S)
• Cessna 180K (C180K)
• Cessna 182P (C182P)
• Cessna A185F (CA185F)
• Cirrus SR20 (SR20)
• Cirrus SR22 (SR22)
• Cirrus SR22T (SR22T)
• Cub Crafters FX-2 (FX2)
• Cub Crafters FX-3 (FX3)
• Glasair Sportsman (GLSP)
• Glastar Glastar (GLST)
• Harmon Rocket II (HROC2)
• Kitfox 7 Series SS (K7SS)
• Kitfox 7 Series STI (K7STI)
• Mooney M20F Turbo (M20F)
• Piper J3 (J3)
• Piper PA18 (PA18)
• Piper PA28-140 (PA28140)
• Piper PA28-181 (PA28181)
• Vans RV-4 (RV4)
• Vans RV-7 (RV7)
• Vans RV-8 (RV8)
• Vans RV-10 (RV10)
• Vans RV-14A (RV14A)

The basic version of the app is free.  It predicts aircraft performance using user-entered weather and elevation information in a static fashion like a calculator.

The pro version requires a subscription, but offers significantly more features and capabilities. It dynamically recalculates performance in real time responding to the aircraft's 3D position and automatically updated weather conditions. With the addition of airfield information from either the included 73,000 airfield global database or user-defined airstrips, TLAR computes additional performance metrics such as predicted height by end of the runway on takeoff, bearing, distance, glide path, and descent rate required to the airfield, predicted stopping point on the runway during landing, approach stability on short-final, displaying that status visually, and audibly in your headset (for aircraft with communication panels that can connect via bluetooth or cable to your phone). The pro version allows the pilot to set tailorable safety margins and warns the pilot if predicted performance will violate any of the set safety criteria. Other professional-level features:

- Moving Map Imagery
- Vertical Navigation
- Adjustable cruise power settings
- Adjustable climb profiles (selected rate, selected indicated, or true speed)
- Create User Airstrips
- Global Airfield Database
- Wet/Dry Runway Effects
- Surface, Slope, Fence-Height
- STOL Approach And Max Braking
- Stabilized Approach Monitoring
- Smart Approach Slope Indicators
- Automatic Weather updates via NOAA METAR server
- Pilot Parameters
- Wind Effects
- Mark-points
- Survey an airstrip
- Barometer
