performance assessment of buildings may take more than 25 years for a large city. Most of the
buildings are generally older than 20 years therefore users do not know if their home is safe under
an earthquake. They cannot also obtain building performance just after an earthquake The main
problem is that the procedure to provide seismic performance assessment is too complex for non-
technical users.
