After a longer break, I put some time back into the iPianoChords app. On the one hand, now a little clearer without completely changing the look, so there is still not much similar about piano chords in the APP Store.
Now optimized for all iPads and landscape mode, I added a few adjustments:
In addition to the variants to choose a chord with swipe as chord selection by name, via filter function, as chord reverse search and the scale library, we now have the note view active in all modes.
The quiz mode has been revised and now includes chord inversions, this also applies to reverse search. The levels are classified differently as before and designed for beginners. Only the last levels are for the chord masters.
And after multiple requests now with midi input. A connected midi keyboard via cable or Bluetooth is recognized directly and you can use it in quiz mode and for reverse search. Some Bluetooth keyboards needs to be connected via GarageBand and can then be used. If there are several midi sources, a dialog is displayed for selection.
We also kept the export function for chord diagrams as an image, but I can recommend the ChordPainter in the AppStore. It will create a piano songbook with chord diagrams instead of a notes in minutes.
The rest is the same and iPianoChords HD has a Chord Library engine with over 2300 chords. You could select the chord with direct selection by using buttons or the new enhanced filter mode.
The Reverse Chord Finder could help you finding the chords for given Piano keys. Also chord inversion are added to the search process, which will offer a very good search result.
We added a new Scale Library with 46 Scales in all 12 root notes.
There is now a Note System Display available and the display position could be switched in 3 positions. Please note that I'm using a simplified display which may not always 100% musically correct.
For all musician are not very familiar with notes, we have added a function to export Chord images. Simply tab your chord notes with red keys, additional solo notes with yellow keys and the left hand chord with blue circle markers. Add a name for your chord image and the chord snapshot function will copy this image to the photo library.
