For UCI mass start and World Triathlon draft-legal competitions, there are restictions to what kind of wheels can be used. Checking wheels as part of the registration process before draft-legal races can be difficult and time-consuming. It requires 2 UCI wheel catalogues with more than 72 pages, totalling over 1900 wheel brands and types to choose from. We already informed you some time ago about the website wheellist.info, which offers a search engine to browse through both lists using any imprint on a wheel you want to check.
We now want to point you to the newly released mobile app 'Wheel List Browser' that offers that same functionality, but without the need for the website. From the start screen you can enter the same wheel imprint (or part of it), and it will return a list of all wheels that comply to your search criteria. You can choose to see only the manufacturer and wheel type, or also include the rim height and number of spokes for that particulat wheel.
As a bonus the app will list the actual UCI and World Triathlon rules regarding the use of wheels in all different competition types. You can also find the rules and a list of approved, unusual bike frames that are allowed during draft-illegal competitions.
