About Obsessed

Welcome to Obsessed!

It's not just an app; it's a comforting & insightful space that's all yours, to help you face your specific fears in a targeted way. Get ready for a streamlined, powerful approach to healing from OCD that's unlike anything you've experienced before.

Based on Cutting-Edge Neuroscience

While the word ‘neuroscience’ can be tossed around as a buzzword, Obsessed is aligned with how the brain really works. Designed by an OCD researcher, the Obsessed Technique is split into four stages, comprising over 790+ professional audio sessions: Learn, Prepare, Desensitize and Feel Great.
Together, these help you rewire the brain circuitry that keeps you fixated on specific topics in an efficient way.

Precise Exposure-Based Interventions = Freedom from OCD

OCD affects 2–3% of individuals, yet it can take up to 17 years for many people to receive effective treatment. Medication alone typically provides only moderate relief, because true recovery requires precise, targeted exposure
•Are you constantly bracing for worst-case scenarios?
•Do you attempt to expose yourself to your fears but remain anxious?
•Do you sometimes feel improvements, but slip back to the same pattern?

You’re perfectly normal. You just haven’t learned how to show your brain that your thoughts and anxious feelings don’t matter. When you fear these as well as the triggers, you stay stuck in a self-reinforcing loop. By learning how to undo the vicious cycle, you achieve genuine, lasting change.

Many Themes, Same Underlying Pattern

In the app, you’ll find almost every OCD theme under the sun. Here are just a few:
•Popular: Relationship OCD, Harm OCD, Checking OCD, Sensorimotor OCD, HOCD, POCD, Contamination OCD, Legal OCD, Just Right OCD, Religious OCD, Data OCD
•Rarer: Music Obsession OCD, Manifestation OCD, Existential OCD, True Nature OCD, Depression OCD
•OCD-like conditions: DPDR, Agoraphobia, Fear of Missing Out(FOMO) & many more

Obsessed guides you through exposure-response-prevention (ERP), but in a novel, more efficient way. First, you’ll identify your specific core fears – your ‘worst nightmare outcomes’. "Every problem contains within itself the seeds of its own solution” - Norman Vincent Peale
Then, you’ll access an abundance of material teaching you how to PROVE to your brain that these fears aren’t real threats. OCD is stubborn, and your brain needs real evidence to heal!

Tap into New, Uplifting Emotional States

A common trap is to think, “I’ll be happy when I’m better!”. Really, you need to start cultivating positive emotions right now.

Why? Our brains have evolved to keep us alive by preserving energy. And, establishing new neural pathways requires energy. To encourage your brain to rewire itself, you must show it that you’re committed to chasing new, more positive feelings.

To make this effortless, we’ve curated pep talks, beautiful meditations, hypnosis sessions, and your own private journal designed to help you:
-Gain momentum
-Trust yourself, others & your mind’s capacity to heal
-Construct a new self-concept
-Celebrate & document your daily life/epic adventures alike
-Maintain your progress!

Reviews for Obsessed

The content within the app is great - the interface could use some work

I want to start my review by saying I do really like the content of the app. The audios are genuinely very helpful. There’s a few things I think could be added to the app interface itself to make things a lot more accessible. The ability to adjust the speed of the audios would make a huge difference. Currently, the audios seem to go too fast for me to properly absorb all of the information I’m getting, and things will either zip by and I’ll miss it, or it will feel overwhelming. I know there are also likely people who would pay better attention if it were even faster! So the ability to change the speed would be great. Providing transcripts within the app for the audios would also make a massive difference for accessibility. An additional feature that I think would be helpful would be the ability to pause and audio, and have it save your timestamp when you return. Many audios are so short that it’s not a problem, but there are some ranging from 20 to 40 minutes where it would be really nice to be able to step away from it without it resetting your spot as soon as you close the app. I really like the content in the app, and would really be interested in the premium content, but I cannot justify the price of the premium content without the content being accessible to me, so that I can use it to the full potential. If the app interface improved, I would be significantly more likely to purchase all of the content on the app.

Wonderful, helpful app!

Great to help with OCD and ruminating. You can tell the creator understands OCD and how debilitating it can be!

Great App!

Obsessed Review I think this is one of the best apps for OCD education and recovery in the App Store. The Learn and Desensitize sections are two of my favorites! There are lessons in the Learn section that took me years to learn and I think are incredibly valuable to anyone with OCD. Some of my favorites are the one that talks about how relaxation techniques are often counterintuitive when actively anxious and they actively reinforce anxiety’s cycle and the one that talks about how it’s normal to have random and bizarre thoughts. One of the biggest lessons in recovery is that it isn’t about the content, it’s about the process and that can help you make HUGE strides in treatment. The Desensitize section is really helpful for exposure ideas and has audios explaining each theme OCD can latch onto. OCD can latch onto anything so this list cannot ever be exhaustive since it would be infinite lol, but it covers so many of the main categories and even ones that are more taboo or not talked about like meta OCD and POCD, which I really love. It guides you through audios, imaginative exposures, and gives you ideas for real-life exposures too, all of which are fantastic. I think this app is amazing! It has a lot of resources that I really respect and I think can help people make great strides in treatment. I would say this app is a great supplement to therapy, whether you’re going through ERP or a combination or ERP and ACT. Other resources you can check out for recovery include Jenna Overbaugh, Reid Wilson, IOCDF, and treatmyocd.com. This app reinforces a very important truth: you can recover from OCD and you can learn to live more from your values than your fears. Best of luck to everyone struggling right now and here’s to every little step in your journey! You’ve got this!!!
