MTM Go is a rider facing mobile application that allows users to register using an email address and password (with identification criteria) then access their rider profile to perform a variety of functions regarding trips including accessing existing trip information, requesting new trip bookings, cancelling trips, real time GPS information with estimated time of arrival for current trips, and push notifications pertaining to upcoming trips.

Clunky with VoiceOver, bad UX/A11Y

Took me hours to create an account because the datebase being queried had my suffix and middle initial as part of my last name and search wasn’t smart enough to find me based on everything else provided. When initially trying to find myself in the db, i encountered text inputs that are case sensitive but also auto capitalize. DOB/email inputs show incorrect mobile keyboard. Tried to book a ride and my work location doesn ‘t show as an option, but places I went once 10 years ago do. No way to search past locations provided or set a new/custom location, so now I’m on hold with a 1+ hour wait on the reservation line. App is clunky with VoiceOver, with ghost tab stops, improperly labeled controls, missing roles and just weird forms in general. Why make everything an extra tap? Trip purpose for example has an improperly grouped form input that opens into a dialog that contains another input that opens a set of predetermined options with search, but this is never going to be more than 2 options. Why? I honestly don’t think any QA or accessibility testing was done when developing this app and it’s only users are disabled folks. How much did the state just pay for this app and Ripta is in a $10 million deficit right now? Unbelievable. I should be able to add and remove pick up and drop off locations at Will. I should not have to call to remove a location. These are some of my first impressions. Maybe once I am able to actually book a ride I will add a little more in here.
