About Commercial Pilot Checkride

Using a question-and-answer format, Commercial Pilot Checkride lists the questions most likely to be asked by examiners during the last step in the commercial pilot certification process – the Practical Exam – and provides succinct, ready responses. Applicants will find this App an indispensable tool in both planning for what to expect during the airplane checkride, and mastering the subject matter. Instructors rate them as excellent preparation for students, as well as general refresher material.

This Commercial Pilot Checkride app is based on the popular Commercial Pilot Oral Exam Guide book by Jason Blair. It is designed for applicants training for Commercial Pilot (airplane) Certificate. Nearly 800 questions and responses ensure all the subjects a commercial pilot candidate will be tested on during checkrides and review flights are covered. Topics include: pilot qualifications, airworthiness requirements, weather information, airplane systems, emergency procedures, performance and limitations, cross-country flight planning and procedures, human factors, commercial flight maneuvers, and scenario-based training. Answers and explanations were researched using FAA documents (which are identified so pilots know where to go for further study) as well as interviewing FAA examiners. Questions can be marked for further study from any subject to build your own collection of flashcards. An Applicant Practical Test Checklist, private carriage versus common carriage of persons or property Advisory Circular 120-12, and FAA Safe Air Charter Q&A are also included.

Compatible with iOS phones and tablets, this app teaches applicants not only what to expect, but also how to exhibit subject mastery and confidence when under the examiner’s scrutiny. It identifies candidates’ strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in their aeronautical knowledge, which increases study efficiency.

App features:
• Nearly 800 questions are included with succinct, ready responses.
• Questions from any subject can be flagged for further study into a separate group.
• Includes all the questions and answers from the popular book, Commercial Pilot Oral Exam Guide by Jason Blair.
• Brought to you by a trusted resource in aviation training and publishing, Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA).

Incorrect Answer

On question 8/118 on Airplane systems, the explanation says that the pressure inside the aircraft is higher than the pressure outside the aircraft if you use the alternate static port. This is incorrect, the pressure inside the aircraft is lower than the pressure outside the aircraft. This causes the instruments to all read higher, and the VSI to show a momentary climb. Love the app though
