Genero Mobile Development Client
The Genero Mobile Development Client app allows you to preview a Genero Mobile application that you are developing.
Genero Mobile is a new product in the Genero suite of application development tools. With Genero Mobile, you can create standalone (offline) or connected (online) business applications for IOS with a native GUI. A Genero Mobile program uses a virtual pcode machine (called the Virtual Machine or VM) in order to execute.
How to connect:
· One has to enter a valid application URL in the "Connect to Dev server" dialog. The app connects then via http(s) to a Genero Application Server (GAS) in order to get a preview of the remote application under development.
· It evaluates a proprietary text-based protocol which transmits the Abstract User Interface (AUI) tree.
· The AUI tree is transformed into the native GUI representation: a Window is transformed into a UIViewController, an Action is transformed into a UIBarButtonItem, a Table is transformed into a UITableView, a ToolBar is transformed into a UIToolBar, and so on.
· The program itself runs in development mode on the desktop, emitting the protocol to this GUI client.
· All user interactions are transmitted back from the GUI client to the desktop program. This updates the AUI tree, which is then re-sent from desktop program back to the GUI client.
· You need to have a valid Genero license in order to develop applications for Genero Mobile.
